Plans to Foster a Safe Driving Education Culture through Market Digitalization

[소셜밸류=박완규 기자] The driving school price comparison and reservation platform "Driving Teacher" is introducing a new online home visit driving training service as part of its effort to eradicate illegal driving training.
TG Society(CEO: Oh Seok-jun), the operator of Driving Teacher, announced on the 10th that it has launched the home visit driving training service in collaboration with driving schools.
Under the current Road Traffic Act, companies not registered with the National Police Agency are prohibited from providing paid driving education services. Violations can result in up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 5 million KRW. However, there are no realistic means to crack down on the estimated 2,000 illegal companies, leaving consumers exposed to illegal driving training.
These illegal operators, leveraging their advantage in digital marketing compared to outdated traditional driving schools, are particularly active online. In fact, most search results on driving training-related portal sites are for illegal companies.
Illegal driving training companies lure consumers with lower prices—about 40% cheaper than legitimate driving schools—and the use of personal vehicles for training. Engaging with these illegal operators exposes consumers to several risks, including ▲increased accident rates due to illegal vehicle modifications ▲lack of proper insurance coverage in the event of an accident ▲secondary harm from unverified instructors, and ▲potential fraud such as disappearing after payment.
Driving Teacher's home visit driving training service will be conducted with vehicles and instructors from police-approved driving schools. Consumers can conveniently receive lessons from certified instructors, following a structured curriculum, at their preferred location. The driving school vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance for teaching purposes, ensuring proper insurance coverage in case of accidents.
TG Society plans to leverage its expertise and digital marketing capabilities, accumulated through operating Driving Teacher, to effectively support driving schools in meeting the demand for driving training and combating illegal practices.
In addition, TG Society is developing an AI-based vehicle route optimization solution to help reduce driving school operating costs. The goal is to continually enhance this solution to ensure consumers can receive affordable yet safe driving education.
