[소셜밸류=김하임 기자] Sinor, Korea's first social community service for the over-50s, today announced the launch of the 'Sinor' app 2.0.
Sinor, launched last year, is a social community service that aims to be a playground for gathering and dating for people over 50.
Sinor App 2.0 separates and expands the service from a combination of gathering and dating services into dating (Silove) and gathering (Sinor). The reason for the separation is that the number of subscribers has rapidly increased to over 30,000 within a year of launching the service.
In the current system where dating and gathering services coexist, married people who are not single have been reluctant to join the service, but after the release of App 2.0, it is expected that more married people will be able to join the app.
The services have also been reorganized to maximize the convenience of members' activities within each service.
In this regard, Kim Minji, CEO of Sinor, said, "Based on our internal evaluation that the characteristics of the current UI/UX may still be uncomfortable for some members who are not familiar with digital culture, we have improved these issues through the recent investment. Now that the services are more accessible to those who are not digitally active, Sinor and Silove will become the best 50+ gathering and dating platform in Korea.".
Sinor's success can be attributed to the fact that the interest in healthy social activities among the 50+ generation was much higher than expected.
The influence of active seniors over 50 is growing. According to statistics from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Hana Institute of Finance, active seniors account for 44% of the total population and have emerged as the most prominent generation in terms of population, purchasing power, and digital acceptance, with a smartphone usage rate of over 80% and a card payment growth rate of over 50%.
The analysis shows that the 50+ age group has changed significantly from the past in terms of physical fitness, lifestyle, and smart device literacy, preferring active travel and participating in humanities travel education at a much higher rate than younger generations.
"We fully anticipated the potential of the 50+ active senior market, but we didn't realize the level of activity desire and engagement among 5070s," said Kim Minji, CEO of ActiveSenior. "Some members don't even like to be called senior. They would rather be called Generation A after the first letter because they are a generation full of 'Aspiration'," explaining that the social activity capabilities of the over-50s are higher than expected.

In addition, the Silove app will also launch a new dating service in early July that allows members to be active in a comfortable and healthy way, such as '88Dabang', which allows members to access 'Silove' every day at 8 p.m. and meet their matches through intensive conversations. To celebrate the service expansion and reorganization, Sinor will also hold various offline events such as promotions and dance flashmob events to give away various prizes to new members and outstanding users.
