[소셜밸류=박완규 기자] Active Senior platform Sinor has launched its AI buddy service, "79 Phone.” Unlike the younger generation, seniors often have limited social connections, so the service allows them to easily engage in conversations with a friendly AI anytime with just a phone call.

When users call, the AI buddy, "Kim Si-yeon," answers and asks, "What did you do today?" Even if the user responds mumble, the AI accurately recognizes their voice and meaning, generating contextually appropriate responses. This results in surprisingly natural conversations, avoiding the awkwardness and delays often associated with traditional AI interactions.
A key advantage of Sinor's AI buddy service is its long-term memory, allowing it to remember previous conversations and ask relevant questions, making it feel more like a caring friend. Jo Nam-kyung, a manager at MindLogic, which collaborated with Sinor on the AI buddy service, emphasized that the memory capacity of the Sinor AI buddy is virtually limitless. It can not only recall conversations but also apply context just like a real friend would.

Currently, the AI buddy service features two personas: the Korean "Kim Si-yeon" and the American "Amy Williams." A representative from Sinor noted that many seniors who have returned to Korea from abroad or vice versa often express feelings of loneliness, which is why the American persona was added.
The Sinor AI buddy service can be accessed through the Sinor app and the Syrup app, or by calling 070-8685-9372 directly. Users can experience a one-minute trial before opting for a paid subscription. Sinor's CEO, Kim Min-ji, stated, "In an aging society, the mental and emotional support for seniors has become an increasingly important issue." She added that the AI buddy "79 Phone" focuses on addressing these challenges and aims to be a companion in seniors' daily lives. Sinor plans to continue leveraging technology and understanding of seniors to offer a variety of solutions in the future.
