[소셜밸류=김완묵 기자] Femtech company 3J, operating a vaginal health platform ‘CheKIT’, made an end-of-year report for 2023 CheKIT based on internal data. The accumulated turnover of CheKIT increased over 2,200% in only 9 months after launching the service.
CheKIT closed its telehealth service as the number of subjects of telehealth service and medicine delivery decreased.
Accordingly, the company is providing additional services such as recommending lactobacillus products based on the current result by focusing on the ‘vaginal flora checkup service,' which is under beta test since March.
In 2023, the main users of CheKIT vaginal microbiology testing services were in their 20s and 30s, accounting for about 87% of the total customer age group.
It is analyzed that CheKIT has effectively attracted a user base that avoids visiting a gynecologist due to psychological pressure or has difficulty visiting a hospital because of their busy work life.
The vaginal microbiome of Korean women, which was previously unreleased statistic data, was published as well. According to the report, Korean women's vaginal flora shows a predominance of healthy vaginal microbiota compared to women of other ethnicities.
The company explains that it can break new ground in research with continuously accumulated data collected by ongoing research on the correlation between vaginal flora and vaginal health, premature birth, and uterus cancer.
Customer usage pattern is also eye-catching. After the checkup, 66% of the customers took lactobacillus supplements personally recommended based on the result.
After taking the lactobacillus supplements, 80% of the customers who took a re-checkup acknowledged that their vaginal microbiota maintained the current status or improved.
The service scored 4.68 in customer satisfaction.
Many customers gave high scores for lactobacillus recommendations and fast and convenient service. CheKIT built intuitive UI and UX, which led to high customer satisfaction.
In September 2023, the drastic reduction in the allowable scope of telehealth services has led to market crisis theories, with several companies shrinking or changing their business models. An industry insider explains that even in this situation, CheKIT stands out as an example of successful buisness pivot.
3J CEO Park Ji Hyun mentioned, “The experience and data built through telehealth service became the foundation of a new opportunity. We will put our best effort into becoming a company finding the solution for the customers with their question of ‘female sexual health’ based on vaginal flora checkup.”
