The Metropolitan Government of Seoul, host the global startup festival ‘Try Everything 2023’ in September

[소셜밸류=소민영 기자] The Metropolitan Government of Seoul(Seoul) announced that ‘Try Everything 2023’, the global startup festival where startup ecosystem players, including promising startups all over the world, mid-large enterprises and investors·accelerators join, will take place in DDP from September 13th (Wed) to September 15th.
Since ‘Startup Seoul: Tech Rise’ in 2019, Seoul has been hosting the global startup festival, ‘Try Everything’ every year for vitalizing the startup ecosystem. The name symbolizes the adventurous spirit of startups, ‘Fearless of failure and open for any challenge.’
In ‘Try Everything 2022’ with 600 thousand on‧offline participants, Sebastien Borget, the co-founder of The Sandbox, and Tyler Cowen, a professor at George Mason University, gave a speech as the keynote speakers and gave inspiring insight to startups and startup ecosystem players.
Also, including the ‘Seoul Open Innovation Vision Proclamation’ for the win-win partnership between mid‧large enterprises-startup, IR pitching for globalization and growth of startups, and lectures of Korean and International important figures took place. ‘Try Everything 2022’ accomplished a startup investment attraction of 62.5 billion KRW.
In 2023 ‘Try Everything’, startups specialized programs such as open innovation between mid‧large enterprises-startup, investors-startups IR pitching, and lectures of Korean and International important figures on startup trends will take place. Especially this year, as the first event after the endemic, Try Everything 2023 will provide the chance to experience the technology of Seoul startups with interactive exhibit booths and expand engagement programs for university students and pre-entrepreneurs so that not only people related to startups but also who are not.
Attendees can visit the new “Interactive Exhibition Hall” and not only experience the technology of startups but also can meet the promising startups in about 100 startup exhibition booths.
Moreover, the festival will provide entertainment by making new programs that people can participate in such as ‘Startup Busking’ for pre-entrepreneurs with specific business items, ‘Startup Tournament Quiz Show’ testing who has the most knowledge about startups, ‘Promising Startup Awards’ selected by citizens, etc.
Furthermore, various programs are organized for startups such as on‧offline exhibitions, regular meet-ups and 1:1 meet-ups, contests, etc. The application for on‧offline exhibitions and regular meet-ups is currently open.
Any companies with histories of IP generation, domestic and international investment attraction, global commercialization, and market opening can join.
The application form is open until August 8th (Tue) for offline exhibition and until September 11th (Mon) for online exhibition, on the Try Everything website details can be found on the same website.
For customized regular meet-ups, startups can apply on the Try Everything website or Seoul integrated startup platform, ‘Startup Plus’.
Additionally, for 1:1 meet-ups with domestic and international investors, startups can apply on the Try Everything website from August 1st (Tue) to August 25th (Fri)
Besides, lectures of Korean and International important figures, open innovation with global large enterprises, partnership programs with Korean key startup players, etc. Details will be updated on the website continuously.
Tae Gyun Kim, the head of the Economic Policy Office, stated “For the fourth Try Everything this year, we will focus on startup investment matching to overcome the global economy slowdown and startup crisis. Also, to boom up the investment, we will expand contests such as Korea Challenge, and gain more publicity as we expand participants to university students and citizens.” He also mentioned, “2023 will be the year of the largest global investment festival as we upgrade programs where international and private startup players can actively participate in.”
